Welcome! My name is Dr. John Pereira and I am the Medical Director of FibroFOCUS™. Our current wait time is 18-24 months, so it is very important that you are on the correct waitlist for the services that you need.

• FibroFOCUS™ is a group treatment program on Zoom for the province of Alberta. 

• We will cover the newest approaches to managing pain, fatigue, poor sleep, poor memory, and other symptoms common to fibromyalgia.

• This is a group program, only. There is no one-on-one care (no medication prescribing and no filling out forms).

• This program is intended for those who have already been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It is not suitable for those looking for a diagnosis.

• Specialized group programs on Zoom are an intermediate level of care for individuals who are doing relatively well.

• If you are not doing relatively well, then you need a higher level of care such as in-person, one-on-one care at a pain clinic or pain centre.

• The Weekday Group option is Monday + Wednesday + Friday for 4 weeks. It is a total of 12 days on Zoom.

• Each day starts at 10AM and ends at 3PM. There are plenty of breaks throughout the day.

• The Weekday Group presenters are a clinical exercise psychologist, an occupational therapist, three physiotherapists, a psychologist, and a physician.

• The Weekend Group option is Saturday + Sunday for 4 weekends. It is a total of 8 days on Zoom.

• Each day starts at 10AM and ends at 3PM. There are plenty of breaks throughout the day.

• The Weekend Group presenters are one physiotherapist, a psychologist, and a physician.

• This program is provided at no cost through standard Alberta Health Care.
